Jeremy Knight, a former Inspector of Ancients Monuments with CADW and English Heritage, will be speaking about his latest book, South Wales from the Romans to the Normans: Christianity, Literacy and Lordship. He will be looking at what was happening in the Severn estuary during those times including Viking invasions, the establishment of monasteries in Llandough, Llantwit Major and Llancarfan, and the founding of towns like Cardiff and Swansea.
